कला जागरण द्वारा ममता मेहरोत्रा लिखित नाटक 'मकान' पटना में 28.7.2018 को मंचित

मकान और घर का अन्तर 

मकान होता है सर छुपाने की जगह जबकि घर होता है जहाँ कोई आदमी जीता है अपनी असली ज़िंदगी पूरे प्रेम और रिश्तों की मिठास के साथ. इसी नाज़ुक मुद्दे को उठाती ममता मेहरोत्रा की कहानी पर आधारित नाटक 'मकान' में दिखाया गया है कि विभा पूरे दिल से अपने मकान का निर्माण करती है लेकिन मुश्किल यह होती है कि उसका ख्वाब सिर्फ सीमेंट और गारे से निर्मित मकान होता है रिश्तों के जुड़ाव को वह कायम नहीं रख पाती. नतीजा होता है कि दोनो बेटे के परिवार आपस में उलझते रहते हैं और अंत में बँटवारा करके उसकी नीलामी तक कर डालते हैं. और दुर्भाग्य देखिये कि परिवार की शान के रूप में देखा जानेवाला यह आशियाना एक मयखाना बन कर रह जाता है. विभा विला हो जाता है स्वप्निल मयखाना.

ममता मेहरोत्रा की कहानी काफी सूक्षमता के साथ अपने कथ्य को रखा है.  सुमन कुमार का निर्देशन कहानी की कशमकश को अभिव्यक्त रखने में पूरी तरह से सफल रहा और करिश्मा कुमारी (विभा) ने अपने किरदार को संजीदगी के साथ जीकर उनका पूरा साथ दिया. मिथिलेश कु. सिन्हा, आमिर हक, नेहा कुमारी, सृष्टि कुमारी, अखिलेश्वर प्र. सिन्हा, सितेश कु., राकेश कु., मनु राज और आदर्श प्रियदर्शी  ने भी अपनी सीमाओं में अच्छा अभिनय किया. छोटी बच्ची मुन्नी की भूमिका में आराध्या सिन्हा ने अपनी नन्ही उम्र के बावजूद संवाद की असरदार अदायगी करके चौंका दिया. प्रदीप गांगुली की मंच व्यवस्था काफी सुंदर थी और सचमुच एक पारिवारिक घर का अहसास करा रही थी.  हीरा लाल राय की रूप सज्जा वास्तविक जैसी थी . संगीत प्रभाव अजीत गुज्जर का था. ध्वनि नियंत्रण उपेंद्र कु., प्रकाश संचालन राज कुमार वर्मा अच्छी तरह से कर रहे थे. रीना कुमारी और मनु राज का वस्त्र विन्यास बिलकुल पारिवारिक पात्रों के अनुरूप था.

यह प्रस्तुति एक सूक्ष्म किन्तु अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण विषय को सशक्त रूप से आगे रखने में सफल रही और इस हेतु लेखिका  के साथ-साथ निर्देशक और कुछ पात्रों को विशेष रूप से श्रेय जाता है.

You can not kill me father- your daughter

A feticide is nothing but a murder of one's daughter before her arrival in the world. This play raises this issue very poignantly. The woman is pregnant is having the knowledge that the embryo in her abdomen is that of female. She has no problem but her husband is tatally averse to the birth of a daughter. She somehow slips into slumber and watches a dream. In that dream her daughter to-be-born asks her biting questions as why she is deprived of seeing the world and why her parents are trying to kill her before taking birth. The mother has no reply. The unborn daughter daughter explains the different forms of a girl like daughter, sister, lover , wife, mother etc. and convinces her that she is useful to the family and society in every step and stage of her life. Even after this if her parents do not like her then she would herself take birth as a dead child to relieve her parents from any guilt feeling.

The script of Rajesh Debnath raises a vital issue of female feticide which if not attended is bound to devastate the whole human kind. As in such a case a large number of men would not get their wife and so their lives would become prosaic and meaningless. The main female actor (daughter) and her parents acted well. The daughters in different forms were played by very little school girls who showed good body movements. The dialogues were coming from the background and the actors were showing their movements of lips and body in a very synchronised manner. The synchronisation of lips, hands and foot were perfect with the dialogue delivery from the taperecording gadget.

The director and writer Rajesh Debnath must be appreciated for presenting a burning issue the level which has reached is alarming. The play was staged by Kayadanga Sabuj Sanskritik Kendra, West Bengal as a part of the P.N. Khanna Smriti/ Aadi Shakti Natya Mahotsava and the whole program was organised by Kala Jagaran and Samayik Pariwesh.
